Bald Eagle Selfies, Tabasco Mcwraps, why you should never used a donkey as your get away vehicle and so much more!

Hey world Ever have one of those days at work were nothing goes right? I’m having one of those right now. Firstly, I had to park my vehicle near Broadway and hoof it here because all traffic was at a standstill downtown with the Grey Cup Santa Claus Parade. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not complaining it was wonderful to see all the smiling fans streaming away from the parade. I just didn’t anticipate it, and since when I’ve been operating from my back foot. I can’t hear my voice through the headphones, and I have no idea what I […]

The night has finally come for Raptors fans. Tonight is the first night that the black and gold OVO-themed Drake jerseys are worn by the Raptors. The jerseys were announced prior to the season beginning, but they were waiting until “Drake Night” to test them out. The Raptors play Lebron James and the powerhouse Cleveland Cavaliers. Check the swag: The jerseys are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to “Drake Night”. The ACC will also have a “Hotline Bling Booth” where fans can dance around and take videos. Hotline Bling is one of the hottest songs in the […]

Looking for a Christmas gift? Buy your loved one a naked Stephen Harper!

Kijiji is pretty well-known for hosting some strange items over the years. You can literally buy and sell anything on there, as far as I can tell. But now, a former civil servant has listed what is either the weirdest or best item the site has seen, depending on your own opinion. [WARNING: GENITALS. There is a bit of a penis sticking into that painting. Be careful.] The artist is Margaret Sutherland. She says she created the piece as a way to vent her dissatisfaction about the Conservative government at the time. The painting caused quite a stir when she […]

Community Building at Holiday Time

The holiday season is upon us and there are two things I genuinely enjoy about this time of year: spending time with friends and family and shopping locally. Specifically, I love buying gifts for family and friends from local makers of jewellery, soap, cosmetics, preserves, toys, and even electronics. I’ve found some of the best gifts at sales like THIRD + BIRD and the now (unfortunately) defunct Holidaze Craft Show. And while I’ve bought amazing gifts like a handcrafted stereo made from an antique suitcase or a beautiful handmade teapot fired with the artist’s original glaze, what I really enjoy […]

Oh, Baby!

What’s the deal with parents-to-be constantly one-upping each other with their baby announcements? When my parents had me, they didn’t announce it. All of a sudden they just, like, had a kid. No one knew I’d be making my debut unless they happened to see my mom in her sweet 90’s maternity apparel. Part of that has to do with the times, specifically that the Internet was essentially nothing in 1993. But they didn’t even put it in the paper! Come to think of it… maybe I need to have a talk with my parents about celebrating the birth of […]

This is such a beautiful game. It will definitely be interesting to see what the HD version will look like. The new Zelda game, called The Legend of […]

What the deal with Friday the 13th?

Haven’t you wondered why Friday? Why the 13th? Maybe I can help. While doing research I found that it is easiest to split up the Friday and the 13th. Everyone knows that 13 is an unlucky number. Some say it was because of a Norse myth where all the gods were having supper and then a 13th guest arrived and made everything go nuts. But looking at christianity Jesus was having supper with his 12 apostles and the 12th apostle, who got there last, was the one that betrayed Jesus. It is also thought that 12 is the complete number […]
