Here are 4 local music video series you should be following, from livestreams to music/interviews, in no particular order.
1. Village Idiots – Live @ The Roslyn
This Osborne Village based group live streams every Wednesday at 8 PM. Can’t make it out to that live show you said you were “interested” in on Facebook? No worries, they may just be on the Village Idiots next week! Last week, they brought you The Bloody Historians, and this week Bullrider will be live @ the Roslyn.
2. Mom’s House by Young Media
In this series, local musicians perform multiple songs and even do interviews. The videos range from 14 minutes to 30 minutes long. Most recently, the collective featured folk/blues musician Chenoa McKelvey.
3. The REC Room by Sean Guezen
The REC Room is a series of live recordings from local musicians. It’s been a while since the last post but there will be a new batch of videos soon, including Urban Vacation.
This one is fairly new and appears to only be on Instagram, but I’m intrigued by it’s focus on francophone musicians! So far Erika Fowler, who was a finalist in CBC’s Music Searchlight, has been featured
So get out there and check out some awesome local musicians! Happy Tuesday!
